One of my first D300 shots...

One of my first D300 shots..., originally uploaded by karlo.

Took this with my "new" D300 still cold from being out in the UPS truck. After about 25,000 frames on the D70, it was time to replace it -- a few upcoming projects just need more resolution than it could provide. Even in this snapshot, it's immediate apparent how far image quality has come in the past four years - the grain and color are radically better than what my D70 would show at ISO 400. (And the image is about twice as big - new HD here I come...)

Unfortunately, I'm about to head out the door for the weekend and I won't be taking the camera with me... but I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces pretty hard over the next two weeks so I can get up the learning curve on the interface and any other quirks.
