About Tom Karlo
I've lived in New York for most of the past 30-odd years. I've been writing and publishing on the web since 1994, including a brief stint with Cnet's News.Com in the late 90's. My primary professional focus has been helping small-to-medium size technology companies improve product quality and business strategy, and raise institutional financing. As an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, I executed over $2 billion in innovative financings in the technology, alternative energy and financial sectors, focused specifically on private market transactions including venture equity, growth equity, and subordinated debt. Much of my current focus is on improving the success of early-stage web services and products. I also consult with small businesses on how they can leverage online media to increase their visibility and customer satisfaction.
