Wolf PACks for Truth

Too funny to pass up: WolfpacksforTruth.org: The Real Story on George Bush's "Wolves" Commercial

George W. Bush incorrectly labelled my wolfpack as a terrorist threat. We are NOT terrorists. We do not associate with terrorists (unless you count that pesky wolverine) and FRANKLY, we don't even like terrorists!"

(Update) There's another funny send-up at The Poor Man.

On a more serious note, here's the FactCheck analysis of the Bush "Wolfpack" advertisement.

Go Yankees

This weekend's series has been a test of endurance not just for the players, but for the fans as well. Last night's game went to 1:30 AM, and waking up at 6:30 am, my dream was of standing in line to buy coffee. (Note to self: Decaf.) Then tonight, they go another 6 grueling hours -- by the end we were ordering Cokes instead of beers.

On a secondary note, after watching 20-odd hours of playoff baseball in the last 5 days, I've seen more beer and pickup truck ads than in the last year. Tonight, I figured out the beer ads are far less annoying after you've had at least 3-4 "sales units" of their product. There's a connection to the pickup truck ads too, but I'm not going to get into that here.

The blog is back...

After a long period of being hidden behind some password protection, I've decided to put this weblog back online. It's better to at least have control over the content associated with you online.

Plus, I still periodically discover things that I want to recommend to whoever will listen. This week, two things:

  • Google Desktop -- it's been getting some good press, but the bottom line here is, install it and try it out. It's how Windows' search function should REALLY work.
  • BaseCamp From 37signals, BaseCamp is the kind of simplified online project management tool more people need to use.
